		Vi passerade en massa småställen, for genom ett otal småstäder och lyckades knyckla oss igenom några riktiga bamseställen, som t ex Stettin... Växlande molnighet med regnskurar, gjorde det uthärdligt att åka i bilen, mindre lockande att vara utomhus. Stora åkerarealer växlade med pittoreska byar och städer. Vägarna blev alltmer knöliga ju längre österut vi kom, särskilt om vi hamnade utanför "landsvägen".
		ROAD REPAIRINGS! Överallt reparerades vägarna och vi blev hänvisade till alternativa rutter... Strax efter Stettin vek motorvägen av på denna autostrada ca 1 mil lång. Vi tänkte: "Så länge inte tankbilen framför oss sjunker i leran så klara väl sig VW-bussen"...
		Vi åkte bl a genom Güstrow, Malchin, Neubrandenburg och ut genom Tyskland vid Löcknitz. Vi snurrade ett varv runt utsidan av Stettin, för att hitta vägen mot Bydgoszcz och Litauen. Fastän vi rastade ofta så började vi framåt kvällen få nog och stannade i den lilla byn Wapnica, där det fanns ett motell.
		På motellet träffade vi ett par från Köpenhamn, som skulle till Riga där de hade stämt träff med kvinnans finska bror. Paret, som härstammade från Finland, hade åkt sträckan flera gånger förut och gav oss tips om vilket väg som var kortast in i Litauen. (Lars ch jag hade då insett hur BRETT och SKUMPIGT Polen kunde vara...) Kvinnan jobbade som förskollärare och mannen jobbade på "Botaniske Have" i Köpenhamn.
		Vi hade kommit till den fiskande kontinenten. Vi såg inte många karlar eller småpojkar utan spö i handen... Vi träffade också många människor som tyckte om att prata och berätta om dem själva.
		Vi träffade också ett och annat gosedjur... ... och storkar i massor!
	Wolinski National Park is located at the mouth of Oder River, in the North-Western Poland (Szczecin voivodship), close to the Polish-German border. It protects highly valuable north-western part of the Wolin Island. The Park was established in 1960 on the area of 4844 ha. It was extended in 1996 by incorporating 1 nautical mile broad belt of Baltic coastal waters in the north and delta of Swina River. Inclusion of the part of Pomeranian Bay and inner salt waters of Szczecin Bay has made the Woliński National Park the first maritime park in Poland. The total area of the Park today is 10 937 ha, of which forests covering 4530 ha (41%). 6 forest communities of a total area of 165 ha (1,5%) are under strict protection. The turbulent history of Wolin has led to its cultural diversification. Traditional ties with the sea are though extremely strong (fishing culture, trade). Within the Park and in the neighbouring areas one can find remains of strongholds and other places of historic settlements, which are both subject to scientific research and tourist attraction. Tourism is a vital part of activity in the Park. The tourist infrastructure is well developed and comprises educational - historical centre (under equipment), European bison breeding centre, 4 observation points, 3 parking areas, network of tourist routes (combined length approximately 46 km) and educational trails. Turkusowe lake with its specific colour of water, Zielonka hill, European bison breeding centre and observation points Gosań and Kawcza Góra are among especially frequently visited places. Grave threats to the Park nature are ways, railways connecting the Port of Swinoujście with other regions of Poland, power lines and a gas pipeline. The Park has its own periodical Klify (The Cliffs), where results of its own research as well as scientific description of preservation work in the Park are published. Not far from Miedzyzdroje extends the Turquoise Lake, situated in the village of Wapnica; it was formed in an old mine of chalk limestone, to which it owes its magnificent turquoise colour.
